Nippon Pulse is a one-person platform that lays the public data of the 47 prefectures back out as a map and metrics. It gathers primary sources such as the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and the Japan Meteorological Agency, with the aim of supporting decisions about relocation, choosing a base, and regional research — with the sources shown.
Light, non-urgent questions are also welcome via mention or DM on X. For formal requests such as coverage or contributions, going through this form is more reliable (it keeps a record and prevents anything from slipping through).
This sets out the scope you can use for writing articles or quoting in columns. For individual uses, please ask through the form.
Let us know the outlet name, the use, and the planned publication date through the form. We will also provide high-resolution versions and replacement SVG logos.
The source, aggregation period, and retrieval date for each metric are always visible within the site. The details of the calculation method are gathered in Methodology.
